Katie Price has revealed she was brutally raped at gunpoint during a carjacking in South Africa in 2018, triggering a suicide attempt. The mother of five spoke out about the horrifying ordeal for the first time ahead of the release of a new documentary Trauma And Me, on Channel 4.The 44-year-old revealed details about the attack that happened as she and her production crew were filming for her Quest Red TV show My Crazy Life.The trauma of the experience left her suffering a mental breakdown, subsequent suicide attempt and led her to seek treatment for PTSD. Katie described how she was travelling from Johannesburg to Swaziland in two people carriers before they were attacked, with her being thrown from the vehicle and items such as laptops, iPads, passports, cash and jewellery being stolen.
Katie said: "Six guys jumped us, held me at gunpoint and raped me." Speaking on her Channel 4 show Trauma and Me, which was filmed following Katie's shocking car crash last year, she said explained of the crisis sparked by the ordeal: "I hit severe depression a couple of years ago, depression on top of PTSD, I was suicidal, didn't want to be here. I tried to kill myself. "I knocked myself out and had black eyes.
I had bruises around my neck. I woke up. I didn't want to be here." She also discussed her stint in rehab, saying it was for PTSD and not for "drink, drugs or addiction", as she said: "I have had my eyes opened about a lot.
