In light of the royal mourning period coming to an end, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, was spotted wearing a stunning red coat as she and husband Prince William visited Wales.The national period of mourning came to an end the day after Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral last week, but the royals’ continued until today, Monday 27 September. During the period of mourning, female members of the family wear black clothing only. Now, as the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 40, are seen for the first time since it came to an end, the royal pair returned to their usual colourful attire - with Kate wearing a jacket similar to one previously worn by Diana.
Mum-of-three Kate wore her brunette tresses down and straight with a smart black ensemble which she jazzed up with a beautiful button down jacket. Meanwhile, William wore a blue two-piece suit - a lighter shade to that the royal has been seen in of late. William and Kate will spend the day travelling the length of Wales, first visiting Holyhead in Anglesey, North Wales, and then travelling to Swansea in South West Wales.
The royal couple had promised to visit at the earliest opportunity following the death of the Queen, and return hoping to begin “deepening the trust and respect” they have with the people of Wales. In a bid to continue the monarchy’s relationship with the Welsh population, King Charles III said the country had “a special place in [the Queen’s] heart” before her passing upon his own recent trip to Wales.
