This week marked the last of the royal garden parties of 2022 and for her final visit Kate Middleton looked incredible in a mint dress with long puff sleeves. The Duchess of Cambridge, 40, paired her ensemble with a stunning matching hat that royal fans think could be a nod to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Her pastel outfit was complete with a pair of suede Jimmy Choo heeled pumps and a matching clutch bag. She last wore the dress at the 50th Anniversary of Prince Charles’ Investiture in 2019, but eagle-eyed royalists would be able to recognise her hat.
The stunning green Philip Treacy fascinator featured a large floral applique on one side, which was similar to the one Kate wore to the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018.That hat to celebrate the couple’s happy day that Kate wore was also by Philip Treacy and came in white with cream roses. Prince William joined Kate to brave the wet weather on Wednesday at the Queen’s third and final royal garden party at Buckingham Palace.
While the 96 year old monarch was hosting the event – a tradition that’s been upheld by the Royal Family since the 1860s – Queen Elizabeth was not in attendance after it was revealed earlier this month that she wouldn’t be going to any garden parties this year. A spokesman said at the time: "Her Majesty the Queen will be represented by other members of the royal family at this year's garden parties, with details on attendance to be confirmed in due course." During the third and final soirée, the royals representing the Queen will meet with some of the 8,000 people that have been invited to the coveted party.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle dashed home to the US on a private jet following a frosty visit, proving things between the royal rebels and the rest of the family – especially Prince William and Kate Middleton – have not improved. In fact, insiders tell heat the whole trip has made the royal rift ten times worse.“Harry and Meghan knew there would be awkward moments, but they had no idea how hostile the reception would be,” says an insider close to the Duke of Sussex, 37, who famously fell out with much of his family – and the British public – after he and Meghan, 40, dramatically quit royal duties in 2020.
While their attendance was relatively drama-free, some staunch royalists claimed they noticed a signal of disdain from Meghan to her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.
