Kate Garraway was sweetly joined by her daughter Darcey, 16, on the 2022 National Television Awards red carpet on Thursday night. The presenter, 55, is nominated for the Authored Documentary award for her powerful ITV documentary Kate Garraway: Caring for Derek.
Exclusively speaking to OK! on the red carpet, Kate said about being nominated and the ceremony: "I have mixed emotions in some ways because obviously we didn't want to be in a position where we had this story to tell but this is focused on Caring For Derek. "This is for all the wonderful people around the country who are caring for people they love, it feels like it would be nice for them." Kate also issued an update about husband Derek after she revealed earlier this week that he had been admitted to hospital again following complications caused by contracting sepsis earlier this year.
The 54 year old husband of the Good Morning Britain presenter has been battling health issues since catching Covid-19 in 2020. While he returned home to round-the-clock care in 2021, he's been in and out of the hospital ever since he contracted the virus.
