Kate Garraway has given an update on her health-stricken husband Derek Draper as he continues to adjust to a new way of life, following his long spell in intensive care after contracting Covid-19 in 2020. After a drama when she accidentally lost 54 year old Derek's medication and later had it returned over the weekend, Kate revealed that her husband was now back staying in hospital and was apparently visiting home for the weekend only.The GMB presenter took to Twitter on Friday 1 July to make a plea to find Derek's lost medication after she accidentally left it in a black cab in London.
The 55 year old wrote on the social media platform: " @BC_Lostproperty help!! Have just brought Derek home in a mobility black cab from hospital for a weekend visit. “I have left a case with all his meds and kit in the front.
“The driver recognised me but may not know it’s there - please look and get in touch - need urgently!!" Kind fans rushed to offer their help in getting the medication back to her, with one person saying that they knew the cab driver that took Kate and Derek in his car, and they were trying to get in touch with the driver. The helpful person Tweeted: “I know the driver Kate as he mentioned he'd taken you and your husband to me this evening.
I’m trying to get in touch right now.” Thankfully, Kate finally managed to get Derek's medication back, and she took to Twitter once again on Sunday to tell her followers that she had found the medication and thanked fans for their help. She wrote: "It’s been returned! Thanks to all who reached out - the message got to driver lovely Robert who has returned it - phew and thanks to all."
