Hot on the heels of the record-breaking conclusion of the fourth season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” creators Matt and Ross Duffer have formed a new shingle called Upside Down Pictures and have recommitted to their current streaming home. The ambitious inaugural slate for Upside Down Pictures includes a live-action spin-off of the flagship series created and developed by the Duffers; an adaptation of Stephen King and Peter Straub’s “The Talisman,” which they will produce alongside their hero Steven Spielberg; a British stage play set within the world of “Stranger Things;” and a new adaptation of Japanese manga/anime “Death Note” (previously adapted by Netflix into the underrated 2017 Adam Wingard live-action movie).

To run Upside Down, they’ve hired Hilary Leavitt, a vet of BBC America and MRC who most recently ran her own Hulu-based Blazer banner. The 47-year-old Jim Hopper actor appeared remarkably slimmer in the latest chapters of the beloved Netflix show, which saw his character taken prisoner in a Russian gulag while his on-screen partner Joyce (Winona Ryder) attempted to rescue him. Opening up on his gruelling diet that consisted of ‘not eating’, David said that shifting the pounds was a ‘hard process’.
