Voters in 32 states were asked to weigh in on more than 100 statewide ballot measures on Election Day, bypassing the usual legislative process for majority-rule policies.  Hundreds of millions of dollars were poured into campaigns to sway voters for or against such measures when they showed up to elect the next president and candidates vying in other races.  Here are a few of the most closely-watched initiatives.  Voters elected whether or not to restrict abortion in Louisiana and Colorado. 

Vote counting in some states is still to be completed, but pending a last minute surge, it appears that Kanye West managed to secure just over 60,000 votes in the twelve states where he was standing for the US presidency.The largest portion of West’s votes are in Tennessee, where more than 10,000 people voted for him, meaning he finishes in fourth place with around 0.3% of the total vote.
