Warner Bros., much like Disney, is betting big on superhero content for its streaming service. However, even though Marvel Studios and Disney are leaving the films in theaters and letting the TV series dominate the streaming platform, WB and DC Films are going a bit of a different route, with some big-name superhero films coming exclusively to HBO Max.

Elsa Keslassy International CorrespondentFrance Televisions Distribution has scored a raft of sales on Juliette Binoche starrer “Between Two Worlds” ahead of its world premiere on opening night of Cannes’ Directors’ Fortnight.“Between Two Worlds” (Ouistreham), adapted from Florence Aubenas’ bestseller “Le Quai de Ouistreham,” stars Binoche as Marianne Winckler, a well-known author who decides to write a book on job insecurity and sets off to experience it firsthand.

Odessa Young has joined the cast of The Staircase, HBO Max’s limited series drama adaptation based on the true-crime docuseries. She joins previously announced cast members Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Rosemarie DeWitt, Juliette Binoche, Parker Posey and Sophie Turner.

The Staircase was the true crime documentary that everyone was watching when it landed on Netflix in 2018. It followed the real story of novelist Michael Peterson who was accused of killing his wife Kathleen Peterson in 2001.
