Elizabeth Wagmeister Senior Correspondent Jimmie Allen has been dropped byBBR Music Group, the label confirmed to Variety late Friday, after a second woman sued him for sexual assault. “BBR Music Group has dissolved its relationship with Jimmie Allen,” the brief statement reads. “He is no longer an active artist on its roster.” The country singer was previously put on suspension by label, as well as his agency and manager, in the wake of being sued by his former female manager for sexual assault and battery. Allen denied the claims from his ex-manager that he raped and sexually abused her over the course of 18 months, calling the allegations “not only false, but also extremely damaging.” But less than one month after those first accusations, another woman came forward to accuse Allen in a new sexual assault lawsuit in which the second Jane Doe alleges the singer secretly filmed her during sex without her consent or awareness. After that alleged incident, which occurred in July 2022, this woman filed a police report, according to her lawsuit.

Johnson in 1980, BET has been a primary hub for Black-themed content since its inception. Johnson sold the cable channel to Viacom in 2001 for $3 billion, resulting in an infusion of capital and infrastructure expansion, to include the addition of BET+ and BET Her. The broadcast schedule is populated with original scripted and unscripted programming, as well as acquired off-net fare, with daily viewership currently hovering near 1.7 million and annual ad revenues exceeding $215 million. While the mere existence of BET has demonstrated the power of the Black economy, its celebration of Black culture further highlights its prominence and influence.

A judge tossed a lawsuit brought by the actors in Franco Zeffirelli's "Romeo and Juliet" on Thursday. Actors Olivia Hussey and Leonard Whiting, who are now 72, originally claimed that a nude scene in the 1968 film was child pornography and that the pair had been sexually abused while filming it.

Patrick Frater Asia Bureau Chief NBC’s mystery-drama series “La Brea” will return to Australia for filming of its third season. Within the country, production will relocate from Victoria state to Queensland. The series is produced by Universal Television and Keshet Studios, with Australian production managed by Matchbox Pictures. Renewal was announced in January. “[La Brea] follows an epic family adventure after a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles pulling people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land where they have no choice but to band together to survive,” according to the official synopsis.

Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer Fox is serving up a new season of Joel McHale’s mystery baking competition “Crime Scene Kitchen” next week and bringing several celebrity new guest judges along for the ride. Variety can exclusively reveal that the lineup of Season 2’s famous faces includes “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum NeNe Leakes, country music star Martina McBride, “Next Level Chef” (a Gordon Ramsay-led Fox food competition) and “Top Chef” star Richard Blais and NBA champ and “Special Forces” (yet another Fox competition) contestant Dwight Howard. Those guest judges will pop in during different episodes this season to join host McHale and full-time judges Curtis Stone and Yolanda Gampp in their evaluations.

But production will relocate to Gold Coast, Queensland, from Adelaide in South Australia. The New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. Pictures title is based on the iconic video game by Ed Boon and John Tobias. Filming will begin at Village Roadshow Studios from June.  “Mortal Kombat 2” is written by Jeremy Slater and will again be directed by Australian Simon McQuoid. The film will be produced by James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Todd Garner’s Broken Road Productions. 

Mark Wright hasmade his return to US TV and shared some snaps with Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Ryan Seacrest as he made his big comeback. Jimmie Allen is not sweating his pending divorce or sexual assault lawsuit filed by a woman claiming he raped her. The embattled singer returned to Instagram on Wednesday for the first time since his former manager filed the lawsuit in Tennessee, and he's adamant he'll «be alright.»Set to Kendrick Lamar's 2015 hit, «Alright,» Allen posted the text, «We Gonna Be Alright» and «This Too Shall Pass,» along with a couple of emojis. It's as much as he's said since Allen issued a statement to ET via his attorney, in which he vehemently denied the woman's allegations, which included sexual assault and harassment over the course of an 18-month period when she served as his day-to-day manager.The lawsuit came almost exactly two weeks after Allen and his estranged wife, Gale, filed for divorce.
