Julian Alvarez wants to learn from Erling Haaland rather than compete with him at Manchester City.
Both strikers are aged 22 and arrived at City this summer. Alvarez started City's first pre-season match in the US, but was on the bench for their second and has been a substitute for the Community Shield and opening two Premier League fixtures. He has come off the bench in each game, though, scoring against Liverpool in that Community Shield.
With plenty on attention of how City will line up with Haaland, and also with Alvarez, the Argentine says he wants to learn from his new teammate, who has been prolific in Europe at two clubs already.

"He is a big player, a great player. I have seen him a lot, scoring goals throughout Europe," Alvarez told Sky Sports.
"It is very good for a young player like me to play with the best so you can learn. It is a good position to be in. Whoever I am paired with, the important thing is that City win."
Alvarez wouldn't be drawn on any individual targets, but did discuss how he wants to mark his first season in Europe with a trophy, and play a contributing role in making that happen.
"Winning the Premier League is a huge objective and we are setting out to win every trophy that we can," he said, reiterating his stance that he will play whatever role is asked of him.
"For me, personally, my number one aim is to adapt quickly to the team and to play as much as possible. I want to go out there and provide assists and score goals.
