Police have confirmed a man was seriously assaulted in Glasgow city centre amid a disturbance last night.

Hollywood star Jon Hamm popped over to Glasgow for a taste of home this week.
The Mad Men actor is in Scotland filming the latest series of Amazon's Good Omens and has been catching the attention of fans up and down the country along with the likes of Michael Sheen and David Tennant.
Hamm was spotted shooting scenes in Edinburgh this week but yesterday turned his tastebuds to Scotland's biggest city.
The 50-year-old - who returns as Gabriel, the leader of the forces of Heaven - headed to city centre eatery Bucks Bar for some big American plates of fried chicken.
Staff were delighted with their celebrity visitor and a post on their Instagram page read: "What a star studded day in Bucks today!
"We had Jon Hamm pop in for a quick bite to eat and our very own Connor managed to nab a quick selfie.
"Hope you enjoyed your meal, Jon!"
Michael Sheen and Jon Hamm were spotted in Edinburgh's cobbled streets filming the latest series of Good Omens all week.
The crew were set up outside Newington pub, Cask and Barrel which transformed into 'The Resurrectionist' for filming.
Passers by on West Preston Street across from the pub managed to record some footage as Michael was seen walking down the street and enjoying a cuppa in costume.
Michael, 52, was dressed in character as Aziraphale, an angel who has lived on Earth since the dawn of creation.
Gabrielle posted her video on Twitter, saying: "So I just saw Michael Sheen filming."
David Tennant and other cast members were seen near Stockbridge at the start of November last year and crews also set up at Circus Lane.
