King Charles is considering breaking royal tradition to hand the Princess of Wales an "unprecedented" royal role to help him with official business.

Following the announcement from Buckingham Palace on Tuesday that King Charles III’s coronation at Westminster Abbey will be on May 6 next year, some on social media have been debating if the date could be a slight to his son Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.  May 6 also happens to be their son Archie’s birthday. He will turn 4 during the coronation.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have had a strained relationship with the rest of the royal family after they decided to step down as senior royals in 2020 and move to California.  Charles spoke kindly of the couple in his first speech as king on Sept.

The King is to guest star in a special episode of The Repair Shop as part of the BBC’s centenary celebrations. In the programme, Charles will meet with the show’s host Jay Blades and his expert team of craftspeople to explore their shared passion for preserving heritage craft skills.

King Charles III is said to be planning a “modest” Coronation, where his eldest son Prince William, 40, will play a key role. Charles was formally proclaimed King just days after his late mother Her Majesty the Queen died last month, but his official Coronation isn’t expected to take place until sometime next year.
