Johnny Marr has announced an upcoming photo book, “a labour of love” that celebrates his important guitars.Set for release on October 17, Marr’s Guitars will pay homage to over 100 of the guitars that he has had throughout his 40 year career and include anecdotes about the milestones he faced during this time.“Guitars have been the obsession of my life – they’ve been a mission and sometimes a lifeline,” the former Smiths guitarist turned solo star and composer said in a statement. “So I’m delighted to have made Marr’s Guitars.
It’s very different to other guitar books and is more of an art book, with stories of songs and sounds. It’s been a long time coming and is a labour of love.”The project was made in collaboration with photographer Pat Graham, and will trace Marr’s career from his teenage years and time with The Smiths, to his most recent work with Hans Zimmer on the Bond soundtrack, No Time to Die.Marr’s Guitars will also take a look into the history of how he got his instruments – which include his Gibson ES-355, Rickenbacker 330 and iconic Signature Fender Jaguar.A post shared by Johnny Marr (@johnnymarrgram)Some of his models were given to him by music heavyweights including Nile Rodgers, Bert Jansch and Bryan Ferry.
Other models, however, were later passed down to different artists. These include a Stratocaster, which was famously given to Noel Gallagher and later used to write Oasis‘s ‘Wonderwall’, and a Gibson Les Paul that Ed O’Brien would later use on Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ album.Announcing the forthcoming release on Instagram, Marr explained to fans that the project has taken two years to complete.

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” kicked off summer movie season with $114 million at the domestic box office, falling short of expectations while still landing the second-biggest debut of the year. There are plenty of ways to parse that initial number, but for the third and final installment in the James Gunn-directed Marvel trilogy, it’s going to be less about the opening weekend — and all about the hold. That’s industry parlance for how sharply (or not) a movie’s ticket sales fall in their subsequent weekends of theatrical release. It’s hard to knock a film that opened above $100 million. Yet analysts were expecting a stronger start for “Vol. 3” because it’s the last of Marvel’s legacy tentpoles (at least, that have been announced) and because its predecessor, 2017’s sequel “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” enjoyed a much bigger $146 million debut. It’s not a problem as long as audiences keep showing up.
Emmerdale. In some cases, those couplings have gone on to weddings and babies - but in many, they've ended in break-ups, deaths and affairs. For some of Emmerdale's veteran characters, they've had a lot of different partners over the years.
When Jack Whitehall had his front door stolen in Fallowfield, he did what any self-respecting student would do. He taped a bin bag to the door frame and carried on as normal. Similarly, when a lightbulb went, he and his housemates just resigned themselves to that room being ‘just for the daytime’.

Do you folks remember, not that long ago, during Star Wars Celebration, when Kathleen Kennedy told the press that Kevin Feige was never really attached to a “Star Wars” film and it was just the fandom that made it all up? She actually said, “We never discussed an idea,” and basically, gaslit everyone into thinking it was all a rumor. Of course, we know that’s not true because Feige talked about it, Michael Waldron talked about being hired to write a script, and now, we have the Russo Brothers, who not only confirm that Feige was working on a “Star Wars” film with Lucasfilm but that they were discussing possibly signing on to direct.
