John Lewis set to axe jobs, cancel bonus and close shops under restructuring plans

Retail giant John Lewis is reportedly planning hundreds of job cuts, in a move that will see some branches permanently axed from the high street.

In a letter to staff, the chain's chairman, Sharon White told 80,000 partners at the company, which includes Waitrose, that its prized bonus will also likely be scrapped next year as the company struggles to ramp up sales.
