John Lennon’s son Julian ‘shocked’ by his father being brought ‘back to life’ during Sir Paul McCartney’s shows

The companies previously collaborated on “McEnroe,” a documentary about the tennis great John McEnroe, which was released in U.K. cinemas in July and premiered on Showtime on Sept. 2. As development financiers and executive producers on both projects, Dogwoof will be presenting the projects to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

Paul McCartney made a surprise appearance at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night, honouring the drummer after his sudden death aged 50 in March. Alongside Chrissie Hynde, who earlier took to the stage for a set nearer the top of the show with her band The Pretenders, and the pair sang a duet. Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl kept the Beatles legend’s introduction deceptively low-key, focusing on welcoming Chrissie back, before adding ‘and her good friend, Paul McCartney’.

The home of John Lennon’s mother, dubbed the House of Sin, is expected to sell for £250,000 at auction.

Liverpool played a significant role in both Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney’s musical development, the auction house said. The pair, who would become founding members of the Beatles, rehearsed at the semi-detached house with their bandmates in The Quarrymen without fear of noise complaints from Lennon’s mother Julia. Mrs Lennon lived in the home with her husband John “Bobby” Dykins from 1950 until her death in 1958, with the singer’s sisters Julia Baird and Jacqueline Dykins.

Elvis Costello has unveiled details of a huge 10-night residency in New York next year.Costello revealed the plans for the residency while on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and said the gigs would feature a changing setlist.“I’m gonna play a 10-night stand in New York City next February,” Costello explained on the show.“But here’s the thing – I’m going to print a list of 10 songs a night that’s gonna give you a clue to what the night’s gonna be like. The virtual reunion of two former Beatles was an odd experience for Julian Lennon.

Julian Lennon has discussed how he was initially “shocked” by Paul McCartney‘s recent virtual duet with his late father, John Lennon.At the start of his North American tour and again at Glastonbury, McCartney performed a virtual duet with his former Beatles bandmate courtesy of technology created by The Lord Of The Rings and Get Back director Peter Jackson.At the shows, McCartney and Lennon traded verses on the song ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’, with Jackson having isolated Lennon’s vocal for the team-up. “I’ve got a special little thing here,” McCartney said when introducing that track.

Paul McCartney took to Instagram Thursday to share that his brother-in-law and close friend, John Eastman, had died at the age of 83. McCartney, 80, and Eastman were in each other’s lives 50 years, not only as in-laws, but as colleagues and friends. Eastman was McCartney's lawyer during the Beatles' breakup.
