Football legend John Fashanu is the next celebrity confirmed to be taking part in the new 2023 series of Dancing on Ice. It comes as Pasty Palmer was named as the first contestant for the hit ITV skating show during an appearance on Monday's This Morning.
Speaking about signing up for the series, John, 60, said: "I'm so excited to be a part of Dancing on Ice! "I don't think it'll come as a surprise to people that I'm very competitive - I am definitely in it to win it. "And this may be one of the scariest things I've ever signed up for but I couldn't be more ready for the challenge!" Dancing On Ice returns to ITV and ITVX in 2023 with a new cast as eleven celebrities prepare to embark on the ultimate challenge as they take to the ice each week, skating live in a bid to impress both the panel and viewers at home.
It comes as Patsy told Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield on Monday about signing up for the series: "Out of all the things that came through this was the one I had to really think about." She added: "Obviously I want to challenge myself, get back to work, get out of my comfort zone and I just thought I'll go for it. It seems a lot of fun and I do like ice skating though I'm not an ice skater." Phillip, 60, said: "You've turned this down before.
We've asked you before." Patsy replied: "Yes I know I've been terrified before but I was 50 this year and I have to do things to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone." She added: "50 is such a weird age so this is kind of for all the 50 year olds out there. I'm actually quite scared now." Dancing On Ice will return to our screens in January 2023.
