EXCLUSIVE: Game of Thrones alum John Bradley is set as the lead of North Shore, a Paramount+ crime thriller series from Cold Feet creator Mike Bullen. Downton Abbey‘s Joanne Froggatt has closed a one-year deal to star in the six-episode first season of the Australian original.
Set on and around Sydney Harbour, North Shore follows the clash of cultures when British and Australian detectives team to solve a complex murder mystery, and uncover a conspiracy with international political consequences.

The series centers on Max Wylie (Bradley), a British detective who, offside with his colleagues, is seconded to Australia to observe the investigation into the suspicious death of a young woman, the daughter of a British cabinet minister.
When Max travels to Australia his life is at a crossroads. His boss doubts Max is a team player and questions whether he has a future in the police, and his wife is contemplating calling time on their marriage.
Froggatt will play Abigail Crawford. Details about her character are sketchy; it is unclear whether she is the cabinet minister.
North Shore, which is slated to begin production mid-October in Sydney, is produced by Beach Road Pictures, the production company set up by former Playmaker bosses David Maher and David Taylor. North Shore writer Bullen executive produces with Maher, Taylor and Di Hadden. Gregor Jordan is directing.
The series is financed in part by Screen Australia and also produced in association with ITV Studios, which will handle international distribution.
Bradley, probably best known for playing Samwell Tarly on HBO’s Game of Thrones, recently wrapped the filming of the Netflix series Three-Body Problem from GoT creators David Benioff & D.B.

In addition to the new cast, Nathalie Emmanuel will reprise her role in Season 2. Eric Appel returns to direct with Tripper Clancy returning as writer. Production of “Die Hart 2: Die Harter” has begun in Atlanta. The series will stream free (with ads) on the Roku Channel but a premiere date has not been set. In “Die Hart” Season 1, which co-starred John Travolta, Hart played a fictionalized version of himself who ultimately achieved his dream of becoming a bona-fide action hero. In the second season, Hart now wants to cement his legacy as the greatest action star of all time. He’s developed a concept for a revolutionary movie where the action is so unscripted and unexpected that even Kevin won’t know what’s coming next. But Kevin’s vision comes with a blind spot, and he soon finds himself the victim of an evil revenge plot, orchestrated by someone from his past. To survive, Hart must enlist the help of his favorite co-star, Jordan King (Emmanuel), his overeager assistant Andre (Schwartz), Andre’s mom Cynthia (Pell) and legendary Hollywood stuntman Mr. 206 (Cena).

The Santa Fe International Film Festival (SFiFF) has announced its first 15 feature titles. These films are part of the Special Presentation section and will be followed by a full schedule of competition films, short films, panels and events. SFiFF starts October 19 and will run through October 23.

Several scenes in Seasons 3, 4 and the upcoming Season 5 of “The Crown” have all been shot in Spain while the sixth and final one, which starts shooting in late August, promises to be the show’s “largest investment in Spain in terms of time,” says independent producer Martin Harrison, one of the key producers behind the award-winning series for Sony backed London-based shingle Left Bank Pictures.
