John Beasley has sadly died at the age of 79.
The longtime actor, who was best known for Everwood, The Purge: Anarchy and The Soul Man, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, according to his son, Tyrone, shared with The Hollywood Reporter.
Tyrone revealed that John passed away unexpectedly after a series of tests on his liver, during a hospital stay in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska.
John‘s filmography is extensive, as he also appeared in The Apostle, The Mighty Ducks, Rudy, Little Big League, Crazy in Alabama, The General’s Daughter, The Sum of All Fears, and Firestarter, as well as his recent appearances in Fox’s The Resident, Disney+’s The Mandalorian, and Showtime’s Your Honor.
John leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Judy, and another son, Michael. In addition, he’s also survived by his grandchildren Evan, Miles, Olivia, Mika, Darius and Malik, who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.
