Ian Evatt has vowed that Joel Dixon has a 'bright future' at Bolton Wanderers after the signing of James Trafford.

Dixon had recently made a big error in the Papa John's Trophy clash against Hartlepool United, mistakenly gifting the ball to the hosts as Wanderers crashed out of the competition in a 1-0 loss.
Evatt knows Dixon well from his time at Barrow and at Wanderers too, signing the goalkeeper last summer from his old club.
But the Bolton boss believes that all footballers go through rough spells on the pitch, like Dixon has of late, and feels at times other players can step into the breach and take the pressure off.
Evatt hopes that a spell on the sidelines, however long that may last, will help Dixon to recapture some of his form.
Evatt said: “Joel is a fantastic character. Obviously he is not a Matt Gilks type, he is completely different to that, but sometimes in football you have to let someone else take a bit of the pressure and then reset, go again.
“You need to get back to being yourself because we all have tough times, no matter what industry we work in.
"Footballers are no different to anyone, I don’t care if you are Cristiano Ronaldo or Joel Dixon, you go through rough spells and sometimes you have to be taken out of the firing line to remember what you are
