However, Lorraine viewers saw a different, more vulnerable side to the normally fun-loving Body Coach on this morning's show (Monday 21 March). Speaking about his documentary with Louis Theroux, Joe opened up about mum and dad's 'severe' mental health issues and the way they affected his childhood.
He explained: "Now, knowing my parents' upbringing and what they went through, I realised they both had severe mental health issues. Remembering how his parents' mental health struggles impacted his life, Joe explained: "Being a young boy in that environment, it's very chaotic." He continued: "You're very up and down, you're anxious, and I think exercise was my go-to thing that helped me. "I knew what was going on, but I just wasn't told.
As a kid you think it's your fault and you blame yourself and you have all these feelings.Talking about parental mental health is a really positive thing and getting kids involved in that."
