Jesy Nelson confirms she will release solo music this summer after 'severing ties with Little Mix bandmates'

Jesy Nelson has announced that she has signed a solo record deal with Polydor just five months after quitting Little Mix. In 2011, the singer rose to fame after being put in a girl group by X Factor judge Tulisa, alongside Jade Thirlwall, Perrie Edwards and Leigh Anne Pinnock and Little Mix was formed.

Little Mix are reportedly "formalising" Jesy Nelson's exit from the group to ensure she won't make money from their upcoming tour.The girl group have vowed that their 2022 Confetti Tour will still go ahead next year following the announcement that both Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 29, and Perrie Edwards, 27, are expecting their first children. But the group – which also features 28 year old Jade Thirlwall – are in the process of cutting financial ties with Jesy, 29, who quit the band in December.

Jesy Nelson, who left Little Mix in December, revealed her joy over the impressive accolade as she shared a sweet snap of her ex-bandmates to Instagram.  The singer, 29, posted the lovely image of pregnant Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards alongside Jade Thirlwall, with a lines of heart and clapping hand emojis.

Jesy Nelson could pick up a BRIT Award at Tuesday night's ceremony despite leaving Little Mix five months ago.The 29 year old has shared an abundance of snaps of herself in the studio working on solo music since she departed the chart-topping group in December 2020. But it is thought she may be honoured for her work in the band during her final year as the Sweet Melody hitmakers are nominated for British Group.

Jesy Nelson reportedly does not want to pursue professional or personal relationships with the remaining members of Little Mix. The pop songstress, 29, departed the girl group in December last year for health reasons, leaving Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall to continue as a trio.
