Jeremy Clarkson has suggested he's 'feeling the full force' of the outrage over comments he made about Meghan Markle in a newspaper column earlier this week.
He's facing calls to be sacked after saying he 'hated' Meghan Markle while writing in The Sun newspaper - resulting in the former Top Gear host being criticised by MPs, readers and even his own daughter, Emily.
Last night, Clarkson liked a tweet claiming that "the majority of people" are revolted by the words he wrote about Prince Harry's wife, the Duchess of Sussex, and they are speaking out because they have the right to do so, living in a democratic society. The tweet also said Clarkson is "feeling the full force" of the backlash against his statement.
Posted by user @Quiches8, the tweet reads: "It is a democracy and people are speaking about the disgust they feel at his language. That it is the majority of people that are revolted by it. Is just how democracy works and he is feeling the full force of it."
The article has become the most complained about in history with more than 20,000 complaints to the Independent Press Standards Organisation.
Clarkson wrote in the now deleted column: "I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.
"At night, I'm unable to sleep as I lie there, grinding my teeth and dreaming of the day when she is made to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant, 'Shame!' and throw lumps of excrement at her."
The 62-year-old ITV Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter admitted earlier this week that he was 'horrified' by his 'clumsy' comments.
