Anna Wintour pays emotional tribute to longtime friend André Leon Talley: ‘He was magnificent’
Anna Wintour is honoring her longtime friend and colleague André Leon Talley with an emotional tribute, following the death of the fashion icon and former Vogue creative director. Anna took a moment to reminisce on their friendship and their work together, as Talley was without a doubt an influential figure in the fashion industry, describing him as a “brilliant and compassionate man who was a generous and loving friend to me and to my family for many, many years, and who we will all miss so much.”Wintour posted her tribute to André on Vogue’s website, highlighting his talent and unique personality, recognizing him as an inspiration to many; “no one could make people more excited about the most seemingly insignificant fashion details than him.”“The loss of André is felt by so many of us today: the designers he enthusiastically cheered on every season, and who loved him for it; the generations he inspired to work in the industry, seeing a figure who broke boundaries while never forgetting where he started from; those who knew fashion, and Vogue, simply because of him; and, not forgetting, the multitude of colleagues over the years who were consistently buoyed by every new discovery of André‘s, which he would discuss loudly, and volubly,” she continued.“It’s the loss of Andre as my colleague and friend that I think of now; it’s immeasurable.

Darts icon Michael van Gerwen looks unrecognisable with hair at the 2008 world champs
darts legend Michael van Gerwen without his trademark chrome-dome.The Dutchman, who has had the sport by the scruff of the neck for the majority of the last decade, burst onto the scene in 2007 after throwing an incredible nine-dart finish against compatriot Raymond van Barneveld.Van Gerwen was just 17 years old at the time and still holds the record for the youngest player in history to throw a televised nine-darter.While he struggled for consistency over the next few years, van Gerwen's early career was explosively captivating. He was brash, he was frighteningly talented, and as strange as it looks, he had a head full of hair … well, sort of.Images of Mighty Mike during the 2008 World Championships have emerged and while we're all aware that, logically, he had to have had hair at some point, it still doesn't look or feel right. His thinning, auburn locks - as well as his trim figure - make him look like a completely different person altogether.By the time he won his first PDC major in 2012, van Gerwen had been sporting a shaved head for a few years and had embraced the bald look with style and grace. Two years later at the age of just 24, he won the World Darts Championship for the first time, becoming the youngest man in history to do so - a record he still holds today. What looks weirder - Michael van Gerwen with hair, or Phil Taylor with a moustache? Let us know in the comments section below...He was ranked World No 1 for the next eight years and is currently the second most successful player in PDC history, behind Phil Taylor. The Dutchman was forced to withdraw from the 2022 World Darts Championship after testing positive for Covid-19 ahead of his third-round match against Chris Dobey.

'Don't do it again!' Carol Vorderman issues warning to Mark Labbett after Beat The Chasers
Carol Vorderman has taken to Twitter to issue a warning to Mark Labbett following her performance on Beat The Chasers last night. Yesterday evening saw the maths whizz, 61, battle it out on the popular ITV quiz show in a bid to win a cash prize for charity. However, after time ran out on the clock, Carol was left with nothing. In view of her 478,400 followers, she good-naturedly told Chaser Mark that she "forgave" him."I forgive you, my Beast bud....but don't do it again," Carol wrote alongside a laughing face emoji. Her post comes after Mark issued an apology for beating her on the show.He wrote: "So sorry @carolvorders #BeatTheChasers."Ahead of his apology, Mark told how he had been left distracted by Carol's performance."I don’t know what is more impressive about @carolvorders, her intellect or her more tangible assets #superstar #BeatTheChasers," he penned. It comes after the Countdown star left viewers stunned as she donned a jaw-dropping red lace dress, which highlighted her sensational figure.Unfortunately, during her time on the show, Carol struggled when she went head to head with the Chasers. She passed on multiple questions in a row and eventually ran out of time on the clock. The competition was close as the Chasers beat the former Countdown star with only two seconds to spare.“I can’t believe that.

'So sorry' The Chase's Mark Labbett issues apology to Carol Vorderman after brutal TV exit
Carol Vorderman, 61, featured on this evening's Beat the Chasers in a hope to win big money for the Cleft Lip and Palate Association (CLAPA). However, her dreams were short lived as she lost to the Chasers, with Mark Labbett, 56, taking to Twitter to apologise to the TV personality for not making it on the show.Carol made sure all eyes were on her as she made her entrance on this evening's Beat the Chasers. The maths whizz donned a tight-fitted lace dress that clung to her jaw-dropping figure. However, this did not help the Countdown star beat the Chasers as she went home with nothing. As Bradley Walsh welcomed the star she was shocked to know she had a stronger IQ than most of the Chasers. To be safe after being successful on the show so far, Carol decided to take on three Chasers for £20,000.Playing very well, Carol was sailing through the questions, with the Chasers left with only a few seconds on the clock.Nonetheless, the tables turned when Carol had a brain blank for around four questions, leaving her to have to "pass" them.Carol unfortunately lost the show, with the Chasers taking to Twitter to apologise to the star for her early exit.In view of his 149,400 followers, Mark penned: "So sorry @carolvorders #BeatTheChasers."Fellow Chaser Darragh Ennis also tweeted about Carol's performance, telling the star she played well.He said in view of his 22,800 followers: "Carol was tempted with the £100k, but 18 second headstart was a very sensible move."It gave her time but she hit a sticky patch and was one question off £20k.
