Janey Godley has shared a sweet wedding throwback snap as she celebrates 42-years of marriage to her husband Sean Storrie.
The Scots comedian took to Instagram today to post a picture of herself in a wedding dress to mark the milestone. She married her husband Sean in 1980 when she was just 19-years-old. Janey and Sean ran a pub together in the East End of Glasgow for 15 years and share daughter Ashley together.
Posting the sweet snap to her 108,000 followers, Janey wrote: "42 years ago today two teenagers got married, not been an easy time, back then and now, but here we are."
And many of her fans flocked to the comments to congratulate the couple. One wrote: "Congratulations. Happy Anniversary to you both." Another added: "Happy Anniversary to you both I was married 42 years this August I hope you have a lovely celebration." While one penned: "Incredible that Janey. Happy Anniversary."
Janey doesn't show her husband on social media but she told her followers that he was by her side when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year. Just before Christmas, the 61-year-old revealed she would have to undergo a hysterectomy after doctors found a tumour on her ovary following a period of suffering stomach and back pains, a bloated tummy, loss of appetite, and frequent urination.
But despite the major op, she had to undergo further treatment as she had advanced to stage three, meaning the cancer had spread.
Janey told her followers that she wanted to cut her hair before chemo took it from her and made the decision to shave it off completely. Janey drafted in her husband to help her with her new haircut. She wrote: "My husband has performed his first ever hair trim, with gentle care and I think he’s done a good job! #chemo
