Janey Godley has shared a positive update to fans in her ongoing cancer battle.
The Scots comic underwent her last chemo session today and revealed that her 'cancer markers' have dropped from 350 - 53.
Cancer, or tumour, markers are the way that medics detect the presence and amount of one or more types of the disease in people.
Janey told fans that her biomarker has gone down as a result of a hysterectomy she had at the start of the year, and the course of chemotherapy treatment she's been undergoing over the past few weeks.
She said: 'For those who understand or are interested in chemo and cancer markers my CA125 blood test has revealed the number has gone from 350 before the hysterectomy and treatment now down to 53."
Janey told followers ahead of her sixth and final scheduled round of chemotherapy treatment that she hoped it would be her last.
She is now understandably nervous to find out if it has helped to eradicate her ovarian cancer.
She added: "Up early for my last chemo - please let it be the last one - please let the cancer have been defeated."
The comedian, who became a viral sensation during lockdown with her Nicola Sturgeon voiceovers, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in November after experiencing bloating, loss of appetite, back pain and the frequent need to urinate.
She was told her cancer had spread following a hysterectomy and that she would need further treatment, including chemo.
CA-125 is a biomarker for ovarian cancer that is often elevated in the blood of people with the disease.
If a CA-125 level is higher than expected, you may have a condition that isn't cancerous, or the test result could mean that you have ovarian, endometrial, peritoneal or fallopian tube cancer .
