Janey Godley and the Beatson have been overwhelmed after fans helped her raise £42,000 for the cancer charity.
Janey had originally planned to appear at a fundraiser to help the cancer charity that has been helping her since her ovarian cancer diagnosis in November.
Janey who had experienced symptoms of bloating, loss of appetite, a sore back and tummy and frequent urination had wanted to give back after she underwent a hysterectomy followed by treatment and chemotherapy following her diagnosis.
The comedian who is about to finish her last bout of chemo after being told her cancer had spread from her ovaries had planned to attend the shows in March at the Kings Theatre but was unable to as a result of her declining health.
Instead, other comedians including her daughter Ashley Storrie performed at the Soup Pot Tours on March 18 and 19.
Now she has revealed the tickets alone raised £39,037.58 with a collection raising an extra £2693.95 and Merchandise share raising £1211.85.
Janey told her followers: "You all raised £42 GRAND for @Beatson_Charity I want to thank everyone who performed, attended, bought my Beatson merch from my site & filled @Beatson_Charity buckets at The Kings Theatre shows back in March -We raised £42,943.38. Thanks @GlasgowComedy My agent @ChrisDavisMg.
She added: "Thankfully I didn’t do the show I was too exhausted- all my comedy friends did the shows for me and all my profits went to @Beatson_Charity."
The Beason said in a Tweet: "We are totally overwhelmed by this incredible donation from @JaneyGodley
"Despite still going through treatment following her cancer diagnosis, Janey has raised an incredible amount for our charity which will help us support so many cancer patients and their families."
