Jamie Lee Curtis is honoring her daughter Ruby Guest with her Oscar win.
Over the weekend, the 64-year-old won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once at the 2023 Academy Awards.
While appearing on TODAY on Tuesday morning (March 14), Jamie revealed that she is referring to her Oscar trophy with the “they/them” pronouns out of respect for 27-year-old transgender daughter Ruby.

“In support of my daughter Ruby, I’m having them be a they/them,” Jamie explained. “I’m just going to call them ‘them’, they/them, and they are doing great. They are settling in.”
Jamie announced in the summer 2021 that her and husband Christopher Guest‘s youngest child was transgender.
In a joint interview later that year, Ruby recalled the emotional moment she decided to tell Jamie that she was transgender.
