To say that there has been quite a bit of turmoil and fan confusion surrounding DC Studios as we end 2022 is an understatement. And it’s not like everything was hunky dory before James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as co-CEOs in November.

After telling fans, “we know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way,” in response to rumors that “Wonder Woman 3” was being killed and “Man Of Steel 2” may not happen, DC Studios co-chief James Gunn revealed dropped some of his plans and dropped the hammer.

Effective tonight, DC bosses Peter Safran and James Gunn have officially made known their plans for their first movie under their regime: It’s Superman, a script that the latter is currently writing about the Man of Steel’s early days. It’s not an origins story. However, a new actor will be sought to play Superman.

Wow, so DC Studios co-chief James Gunn wasn’t kidding when he said he said some of the decisions surrounding the DC Universe would be tough and difficult, and not everyone would like them. In an Instagram post tonight, Henry Cavill, the would-be Superman—who told the world he was returning to the character in October— revealed that he finally met with Gunn and DC Studios co-chief Peter Safran and said he would not be returning to the Superman role.

If you’ve heard some of the rumors swirling, some of them gossipy and nasty, everything from Patty Jenkins walking away from “Wonder Woman 3,” refusing to make changes to her treatment, and being difficult to work with, well know that the filmmaker has heard them herself and isn’t happy. Jenkins took to social media this evening to refute some of the claims swirling around about her, some from the Wrap and others from Jeff Sneider’s YouTube Show that really painted her in a hostile, hard-to-work-with light.
