James Corden has been praised by restauranteur for 'being a real man' after apologising for his behaviour on The Late Late Show.
The Gavin and Stacey star is no longer banned from the Balthazar restaurant in NYC after profusely apologising to owner Keith McNally after claims he had been rude to staff.
Addressing the situation on Monday night, the TV host, 44, told viewers his side of the story and admitted his comments came in 'the heat of the moment' and insisted he would apologise in person to the staff.
"Because I didn’t shout or scream, I didn’t get up out of my seat, I didn’t call anyone names or use derogatory language, I’ve been walking around thinking that I haven’t done anything wrong," he told viewers. "But the truth is I have made a rude, rude comment. And it was wrong. It was an unnecessary comment, it was ungracious to the server."
Now, the NYC restauranteur has penned a statement on social media fully accepting the comedians apology.
"LAST WORD……..," he penned on Instagram. "Last Night on his TV show, James Corden very graciously apologized for his outburst at Balthazar. It takes a real man to do this," he wrote on Instagram.
"In the past, I’ve behaved much worse than Corden, but wasn’t man enough to apologize. For this reason, I’m going to lift the ban on Corden and impose one on myself instead. I’m going to ban myself from Balthazar for 2 weeks. People who live in Glass Houses…"
After discussing the incident on his TV show, James also revealed he had been in contact with Keith after being alerted to the allegations.
Keith said he "told him how upset I was that anybody was hurt by anything that I had done and anything that I had said, and we had a good talk."
