Viewers of The Chase were left fuming and say show bosses 'robbed' a team of contestants out of £52,000.
The angry mob took to social media during Tuesday's ITV episode when Charlie, Catherine, Heidi and Antony were welcomed by presenter Bradley Walsh and took on The Beast Mark Labbett in a bid to win a cash prize.
The quartet put on a strong display in their individual cash builders and head-to-heads, with Catherine romping home with a £38,000 haul to significantly boost their total, writes the Mirror.
In the final round, the four contestants built up an impressive target of 21 for The Beast to chase down. Sadly for the players, he was able to reach his target with three seconds left to spare, sending them home empty handed.
But, as they agonised over being one question short of winning the jackpot, Twitter users were quick to suggest an answer in the final chase was actually marked incorrectly.
As former Corrie star Bradley asked: "Leap of Faith is a memoir by which Italian jockey," Charlie replied: "Franco Dettori."
The host rejected the response, instead looking for the answer Frankie Dettori. However, some fans believe it should have stood as the legendary jockey's full name is Lanfranco Dettori."
One user slammed on Twitter: "Absolutely robbed by the Dettori question."
Another added: "Someone please tell me why "Franco Dettori" wasn't allowed when that is genuinely his name (Lanfranco) robbed of 52k."
And a third said: "Well, given there was literally one point in it and the answer Franco wasn’t permitted for Lanfranco Detorri; given it is actually the guys real name, not Frankie. I’m pretty certain the team did actually win today... even if they didn’t take home the £52k"
