ITV Jason & Clara: Jason Watkins' life from first marriage to Coronation Street star to 'chaotic grief' after death of daughter

Maudie's untimely death on New Year's Day 2011. Since the tragedy, Jason and Clara have also tried to help other bereaved parents. The family are moving out of the flat in which Maudie was born and the ITV show will follow as the couple tell their tragic story.

She had undiagnosed sepsis after flu symptoms masked the underlying cause of her illness.
Sepsis is a condition in which the body overreacts to an infection causing it to attack its own organs. It can be notoriously difficult to diagnose. Jason was the one who found his daughter who had passed away in her bed.
They had previously taken her to the hospital twice but Maudie's symptoms masked her condition. In anticipation of the documentary's release tonight, the bereaved couple spoke on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast about their traumatic grief. Clara and Jason both opened up about how the tragic loss of their daughter "could have been avoided.
"Clara said: 'I've always felt with Maude, she was just unlucky. You know, another child may have gone to A&E and they've had a consultant there who has gone 'I think this could be sepsis' and their child is alive. "I think it's important to say, some parents are listened to.
I do believe it to be luck. (…) That makes it so much more painful to me because this is a death that could have been avoided. (…) Why didn't I scream at shout at the hospital and demand they keep her there? She added: "I failed at the thing I was
