The teen had been helping his friend hide from his homophobic father after he planned to send him off to boarding school after seeing him with Arthur, who came out in emotional scenes aired at the end of last year.
It was Laurel who discovered the pair in Rishi's home, who is the dad of her partner Jai Sharma, and demanded to know what was going on. Back at The Hide, Arthur and Marshall had to come clean to a spooked Rishi who had started to believe he had an intruder of a ghost.

Marshall begged Laurel to not send him home but in the end Laurel had no choice. She summoned Marshall’s dad Colin, a local councillor, and attempted to reunite the pair, which seemed to go well with Colin embracing his son. But after Laurel filled Arthur in on what happened, he was horrified.
“He’s gone home, Colin came to pick him up,” she said. Laurel explained how she'd got Colin to see sense and says he agreed to let Marshall stay in school with his friends and keep his friendship with Arthur.
