ITV Coronation Street fans stunned by 'mindless violence' as they 'rumble' sinister Audrey twist

Viewers got more than they expected when they tuned in to the latest episode of Coronation Street. Fans of the ITV soap have been very dubious of Stephen Reid since he arrived back in Weatherfield in June. He quickly came to his mum Audrey's rescue when she suffered a fall in the barbers.
The reason for his return to the cobbles has been unknown but more recently viewers have come to conclude that Stephen must be short of money, having even been seen using his wife's credit card, and are sure he's after his mum's inheritance. And this became even more obvious in scenes aired on Wednesday night (August 31).
After regularly pestering his mum to sign forms for trust funds for her children and grandchildren after she made the decision to put Stephen in charge as her family bickered over her money, Audrey had a change of heart. In emotional scenes, Audrey admitted to daughter Gail that she had attempted to take her own life.

She later shared the news with a shocked David and Sarah who were heartbroken by their grandmother's actions. While Stephen acted shocked, he wasted no time in pestering his mother once again for the trust fund forms - after having a quiet word with solicitor and Sarah's husband Adam Barlow.
He claimed Adam suggested he give her a nudge but she told him she'd had a change of heart and that with the salon reopening, she had more things to worry about. Later, at home with her family after sharing her suicide attempt, Audrey told Gail, Sarah, David, and Stephen that she'd be drawing up a will for them to share out her inheritance.
