Holland opened up about his battle with cancer after he was diagnosed in 2014 with prostate cancer and he has recently shared that his treatment was successful.
He spoke to PA on his cancer journey in February 2022, he said: “Thankfully I was successfully treated, but if more people were aware of their risk and caught the disease early, then more lives would be saved. Jools grew up in Blackheath, London, in the late 1950s and 1960s and still lives in South East London with his wife, Christabel McEwen. His supposed bad-boy reputation did not follow him into his career as Jools is known to be a happy-go-lucky type character on screen. His career has seen him move from the pop band Squeeze and Cool for Cats before pursuing his own solo career throughout the early 1980s before he branched out to TV. He presented The Tube with Paula Yates before he guest appeared as a host on MTV which sparked his career as a presenter.
