'It's nonsense' - Marcus Rashford hits back at Manchester United critics after Liverpool loss

Marcus Rashford said it was "nonsense" to claim Manchester United players gave up during the record-equalling defeat by Liverpool at Anfield, but admitted they suffered from a lack of organisation in the second half.
The in-form forward said that stemmed from a desperate desire to get back into the game which left too many spaces for Jurgen Klopp's side to exploit. Liverpool led 1-0 at half-time but scored six times after the break to inflict a stunning defeat on Erik ten Hag's team.
Some United players appeared to let their heads drop as the goals flew in and there has been criticism that they appeared to give up as the damage got worse.

But Rashford vehemently rejected that accusation and said the issues on the pitch came about from trying too hard to rescue a game that had got away from them, which opens up gaps for Liverpool to enjoy.
"We didn’t give up, that’s nonsense. We were unorganised, yeah, communication was bad, yeah, that’s why we conceded the goals," he said.
"But it's comes down to the fact that I believe everyone was trying to get back into the game that much, we came away from the team's principles in and out of possession. I felt like the forwards were trying to press as just the forward unit, we weren't connected with the midfield, then the same with the midfield and the defence.
"We were trying to get a grip of the game when it was 2-0 and 3-0, we were talking but I don't think we were really in agreement of what to do. Listen, it’s happened, the only thing we can do is can learn from it and move on.
