An intrepid Perthshire fundraiser will kit himself out in a full Santa suit - beard and belt included - to complete a remarkable charity challenge on Christmas Eve.
Oscar Eriksen (29), who grew up in many places around Perth but considers Crieff his hometown, is on the brink of completing his 52nd marathon in 52 weeks.
The former Glenalmond College student embarked on his test of endurance back in January and pledged to support mental health charity Mind, both in terms of raising awareness and funds.

Describing his plans for the closing 26.2-mile quest, Oscar laughed: “Oh yeah, full Santa gear – beard and belt. My brother’s the real runner in the family, so he’s joining me for the final one. He’ll be wearing a fetching elf outfit.
“We’ll be forsaking the usual running nutrition in favour of mince pies and whisky (and probably a bit of water). I’ll finish up at my mum’s house in Auchterarder, so I think I’ll stretch for 20 minutes, have a shower, then get into the pub.”
Oscar’s first marathon of the year was the Flitch Way New Year’s Day Marathon in Essex and, since then, his running adventure has taken him across the country and into Europe.
“I was already running quite a lot in 2021 – I’d run 18 marathons and a 50-mile race (Ochil Ultra from Perth to Stirling over the Ochils) so I was ready to do something like this should I want to,” he explained.
