International Box Office: ‘Venom 2’ Rips Into $62.3 Million, ‘No Time to Die’ Nears $450 Million Globally

Naman Ramachandran The stellar box office performance of “No Time to Die,” “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” and “Dune” have boosted the U.K. and Ireland box office to £158.7 million ($214.1 million) in October, 2021, 30% more than October last year.Figures released on Friday by Comscore also revealed that October is the highest grossing month of 2021 so far, with the 2021 year-to-date gross currently sitting at £413.3 million ($557.7 million).

Debuting in an initial 14 international box office markets on Wednesday, Disney/Marvel’s Eternals opened to an estimated $7.6M with No. 1s across the vast majority. First-day results on the Chloe Zhao-directed pic put it 85% ahead of Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings and 20% ahead of Black Widow on a like-for-like basis. Wednesday previews not included in the total above out of Mexico ($500K) and Brazil ($400K) place the film at No. 1 in each.

While dates were switched up, the current pillow between Bond and Dune has done Venom well.

That’s a bloody good showing considering that the film is being release simultaneously in theaters and on-demand via Peacock, NBCUniversal’s in-house Netflix challenger.
