George Shuttleworth left Coronation Street fans in suspense over recent weeks as his rocky relationship with Eileen Grimshaw goes through a difficult patch. George, who’s played by actor Tony Maudsley, had fans talking after revealing that he’d pushed Eileen away because his snoring was so bad that it has ruined every relationship and has even left him being threatened by court.
But though he may be a big hit among fans of Corrie, soap star Tony’s life away from the cobbles is equally as impressive. In fact, before joining the soap back in 2020, Tony had a wealth of acting credits to his name, including appearances in Holby City and Doc Martin.

Perhaps most notably, back in 2007 the actor appeared in Harry Potter's fifth instalment, The Order of the Phoenix, as Hagrid’s half-brother.Taking the role of Grawp, a giant, Tony revealed that the role was one of the toughest gigs of his acting career.
Speaking to Female First, he said: “I played Grawp in Harry Potter: The Order Of The Phoenix, and it was one of the hardest jobs I've ever done.” Though many may consider working alongside Hollywood legends including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson to be a career highlight, they’re not the only big names that Tony has worked with. In fact, the actor starred alongside Johnny Depp in the 1999 film Sleepy Hollow and appeared to hit it off with the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
“Very early on in my career, I worked with Johnny Depp on the film Sleepy Hollow,” Tony told Soap Inside magazine. “At the time, I'd stopped smoking for three years – but Johnny invited me for a roll-up round the back of the set, and I couldn't say no!
