In a dramatic Commons intervention David Davis MP, one of the leading Tory Brexiteers and a former Cabinet Minister, became the most senior Tory figure to call for Johnson’s resignation.
At Prime Minister’s Questions Davis rose from the backbenches and referred to Johnson’s ‘no one told me’ excuse for attending the party in Downing Street gardens inMay 2020
Davis said: “I expect my leaders to shoulder the responsibility for the actions they take. Yesterday he did the opposite of that.”
He added: “In the name of God go”.
