Ilkay Gundogan will seek assurances over his playing time when he discusses a new contract with Manchester City.
Gundogan, 31, has a year left on his City contract and ruled out a summer transfer recently after scoring the Blues' decisive title-winning goals in their final-day comeback vs Aston Villa last week.
In the club's title celebrations, Gundogan said he was committed to staying for the final year of his current contract, and reiterated his intention to sit down for contract talks this summer. Now, he has indicated that he will only sign a new deal if the conditions are right, even if he repeated his claim that he is happy in Manchester and at City.

Speaking to Kicker, Gundogan said: “We will sit down together in due course and exchange our ideas and plans, and then we will see what comes out of it. The question is whether and when I want to do something new again.
"I haven't actually answered this question for myself yet. Football-wise, there is certainly still no better address than Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, and I think that will hardly change in the next few years."
Explaining that playing time will be a key factor in his decision to stay or leave, Gundogan said: "Of course, I would have liked to play a little longer in one or two important games over the last few months.
"That’s not a secret. I am a player who always wants to play. I also need that for my rhythm, otherwise I often find it difficult.”
