That was the case for Chris, from Trafford, who loved his job in the housing industry. But he felt as though his boss looked down on him, so when a new opportunity came up elsewhere, he decided to grab it with both hands.
Chris, who wants to remain anonymous, hadn’t been in his new role long when he was asked to help recruit other people to join the team. He was flicking through CVs when he came across one in particular, recognising the name instantly. To his shock, it had been sent in by his former boss – but she had copied his own CV word for word.

“I was at the gym when I opened it and I recognised the name,” Chris told the Manchester Evening News. “Word for word, it was the same.
“I sent it back to the recruitment agent and said it was my CV with her name on it. I was really shocked at the time.
“Me and my uncle did it when I was about 16. It’s weird that they kept it on the old template. The profile about me was the same, nothing was changed. The key skills were the same, the job description was the same and all the companies were the same.
“The thing that adds insult to injury the most is that she was my boss at my previous company. You think you would copy someone higher up than you.
“When I was there, she never let on that I was any good. I was only 22 when I started working there. If someone young came in and I thought they were good, I would want to encourage them. It was a bit strange.”
