Piers Morgan, 56, is still battling long Covid, after he contracted the virus six months ago. Having been bed-bound and with no taste or smell, the former Good Morning Britain star admitted he's lost "around a stone" in weight. In his latest column for The Sun, Piers spoke to the publication while he enjoyed some LA sun.He revealed he had also hired a nutritionist, and is "practically skeletal now".For someone who enjoys his food and drink, it's been a challenge to get used to as he confessed: "Food tasted like rubber, and there's no point drinking."I’m practically skeletal now," he laughed, dramatically.Despite still having a very bland palette, Piers previously said the outcome of his Covid battle could have been much worse had he not been double-vaccinated.He believes he caught the virus at Wembley Stadium while he was watching England play during the Euros 2020 final. His symptoms included; a cough, fatigue, a loss of taste, a fever, chills, violent coughing and sneezing fits.In August, he revealed he was also suffering from "posterior vitreous detachment" in his left eye, a condition that occurs when the gel that fills the eyeball separates from the retina.According to the Royal National Institute of Blind People, PVD isn’t painful and it doesn’t cause sight loss, but you may have symptoms such as seeing floaters (small dark spots or shapes) and flashing lights. Then in December, Piers admitted he had turned to medication, and his long-term symptoms seemed to be improving. The presenter shared his health update in response to Sky News Rowland Manthorpe, who also had a "nasty case of long Covid".Writing on Twitter about his own battle, Rowland posted: "Don’t like putting personal things on Twitter, but I’ve just logged.

Loose Women star Denise Welch, 63, has hit back at Piers Morgan, 56, after she took to Twitter to comment on the controversy surrounding the purported Downing Street lockdown parties. Piers had claimed that the Government’s alleged gatherings that took place during lockdown would make “covid sceptics and anti-lockdowners feel vindicated”.In view of his 7.9 million followers, he typed: “The worst thing about all these illicit Downing Street parties is they will make covid sceptics and anti-lockdowners feel vindicated in their suspicions that the virus was never that dangerous or why would the people running the country all be ignoring the rules so brazenly?”Denise fired back at Piers while sharing a screengrab of his tweet with her 511,000 followers. She penned: “Anti lockdowners are not Covid sceptics Piers.“We are people who knew that such drastic action would cause horrendous collateral damage as it has.“We also knew that Covid, although desperately serious for some, was not to most people as reflected in the [governments] blatant lack of fear.”But Denise’s remarks divided Twitter users, who responded to her tweet with their own arguments.PaulSmith1961 tweeted: “Well said Denise - unfortunately for Piers, he’s always been on the wrong side here - he’s jumped on the righteous bandwagon and recently he’s been trying to get off that horse - good luck with that one.“I’m triple jabbed and that’s a personal choice and the way it should be!”lisaweider said: “My Dad died of Covid.

Piers Morgan blasts 'appallingly heartless' reporter for 'mocking' anti-vaxxer deaths
Piers Morgan, 56, has made his opinion on anti-vaxxers very clear, especially over the past year or so during the coronavirus vaccine roll-out. But even he drew the line at mocking their Covid deaths. It comes after Pulitzer prize-winning columnist and author Michael Hiltzik, wrote a new piece for the Los Angeles Times about how to react when known anti-vaxxers who preached to others about not getting the jab then die from the illness. It was titled: "Mocking anti-vaxxers’ COVID deaths is ghoulish, yes — but may be necessary."After sharing it on Twitter, Hiltzik was inundated with an influx of messages with people asking if he was "insane or evil".Piers also waded into the debate, adding his own opinion on the "unpopular" piece. He replied: "Appallingly heartless take."Nobody’s Covid death should ever be mocked."They are all tragic victims, particularly so if they’ve been brainwashed into rejecting a vaccine that could have saved them."In Hiltzik's column, he referenced one individual in particular, Kelly Ernby. The former Orange County GOP Assembly candidate wasn't a prominent name on the national stage, but her death propelled her to be a much-discussed topic on social media. She was not vaccinated against Covid when she died last week, and as an outspoken critic of vaccine mandates, the internet exploded with comments blaming her for her own death. But it appears to have highlighted tensions between how we view mandates, with some believing they are Government overreach and others who see vaccines as vital to ending the pandemic. Many rushed to the comments section of Piers' post to share their views on the situation.Kenyanvoices penned: "Or they had taken several jabs that had no effect whatsoever.
