It's not where you'd typically expect to pick up your carrots and cheese, but Poundland is going all out to bag more customers. The budget retailer has undergone somewhat of a transformation over recent years, introducing chilled and freezer sections in some of its stores and plans for even more.
If you've been in Poundland you'll already be aware that - despite what the name suggests - not everything costs £1.Many products do, but some cost less, others cost more and there are deals to take advantage of too, like the bargain deal we shared on Facebook earlier this week after picking up a Chicago Town pizza, McCain fries and a tub of Ben & Jerry's ice cream for £4.
Of the 47 items I picked up from Salford's Regent Retail Park store, 22 of them cost £1, three were under £1 and 22 cost more. The ones that were less were a 1kg bag of carrots for 50p, coffee sachets which worked out at 75p a box with a two for £1.50 offer, and a jumbo sausage roll, which should have been 75p but was reduced to 40p because it was short dated.

The products that were £1 were great value for money - like a 500g tub of Utterly Butterly and a 450g Onken yoghurt, which both seem to be on the rise elsewhere, a 454g jar of Robertson's Golden Shred marmalade, a 10-pack of eggs and a pack of six Warbutons sliced white rolls.
Prices of toiletries and household items were cheap too - a 70-pack of wipes and a box of 10 Finish dishwasher tablets for £1 each among the bargains I picked up.
Many of the items that cost more than £1 were still cheaper, or just as cheap, as you'd find elsewhere, like a six-pack of Muller Corner yoghurts and a 390g box of

canceled performances in Brooklyn, Chicago and Connecticut won’t be rescheduled for the “foreseeable future.”“I don’t know anybody else who’s certainly had a life like I’ve had,” Hinckley said on “CBS Mornings.” “I mean, what I tell people now, if you want to get to know John Hinckley, listen to his songs.”The 67-year-old has expressed an ambition to be a singer/songwriter and to perform on tour, but his scheduled performances were canceled due to safety concerns. During his first television interview since his unconditional release earlier this month, Hinckley told CBS News’ chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett that he has “true remorse” for the assassination attempt 41 years ago.He publicly apologized to the families of his shooting victims, and to Jodie Foster “for bringing her into this.”“I know [the victims] probably can’t forgive me now, but I just want them to know that I am sorry for what I did,” Hinckley said.”On March 30, 1981, then-25-year-old Hinckley brought a .22 caliber revolver to the Washington Hilton and carried out the shooting as President Reagan walked to this limousine. He fired six shots, and struck Reagan in the chest. Press secretary James Brady was paralyzed and died from his injuries decades later.
