The Queen was joined by the extended royal family today to pay their respects to the late Prince Philip who died last April aged 99.The family were reunited for a service of thanksgiving held on Tuesday 29 March at Westminster Abbey. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, 95, was escorted into the venue by her son Prince Andrew, 62, and wore a green outfit for the occasion as she paid tribute to her husband Philip, who died on 9 April 2021. One of the first to arrive at the Abbey was the Queen's niece Lady Sarah Chatto with whom she shares an especially close bond.

Jem Aswad Senior Music EditorVeteran dance music executive Patrick Moxey has announced details of his new label group and has signed a new, worldwide deal for two key record labels with Warner Recorded Music.The agreement, which encompasses the legendary Payday Records and the newly created Helix Records, will see Warner Recorded Music handling global digital distribution via its independent services arm ADA Worldwide, and includes the option for the parties to co-sign new repertoire.The move comes just weeks after Moxey left Ultra, the label he founded during the 1990s, and Sony Music.Helix Records, the group’s new flagship electronic dance music label, which was officially launched this week at Miami Music Week, has already signed several artists, including electronic duo Snakehips, British-Australian band AR/CO, legendary house dj/producer Marshall Jefferson, and tech house maven DJ Susan. Helix and Payday Records have offices in Los Angeles, New York, and London with 36-member team covering marketing and promotions in Canada, Sweden, Germany, France, and Australia.

After not airing the 2021 Oscar ceremony, China is believed to be sitting out this weekend’s event as well. The motivations behind last year’s move were understood to be related to specific films and filmmakers, and while China released fewer Hollywood movies than usual in 2021, the reasoning behind a decision to not to show the Oscars this year is somewhat unclear.

Naman Ramachandran Popular Indian actor and singer-songwriter Diljit Dosanjh has signed a deal with Warner Music to amplify his global music career. Coming up are singles with Canadian rapper Tory Lanez and Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, who revealed a partnership with Warner Music last year. As an actor, Dosanjh’s hit Punjabi-language films include “Honsla Rakh,” “Jatt & Juliet,” “Jatt & Juliet 2,” “Punjab 1984,” “Sardaar Ji,” “Super Singh,” “Sajjan Singh Rangroot” and “Shadaa.” He debuted in the Hindi-language Bollywood film industry with the critical and commercial success “Udta Punjab” and went on to co-star in “Good Newwz,” alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani.

Warner Mack was a country singer and songwriter known for hits including “Is it Wrong (For Loving You)” and “The Bridge Washed Out.”Mack was just 13 years old when he wrote the song that would become his first hit. But he didn’t record “Is it Wrong (For Loving You)” until almost 10 years later, in 1957. Mack made it to the top ten of the country music chart with his debut single, and “Is it Wrong (For Loving You)” became a standard of the genre, charting again in cover versions by Webb Pierce in 1960 and Sonny James in 1972.

Lee Jung-jae of the breakout Netflix hit “Squid Game” and Thuso Mbedu from “The Underground Railroad” took home series acting awards. The 37th show was in keeping with the Spirit Awards’ history of celebrating films and (more recently) television series that embody the independent spirit through a combination of financing, creativity and subject matter.
