It may seem like the last bank holiday was a lifetime ago, but Christmas is just around the corner - meaning time off for many workers. There are a handful of holidays around the festive period, but by using your annual leave correctly, you can triple your Christmas holidays and enjoy up to 11 days of well-earned time off with loved ones. That's according to Frank Recruitment Group, who has figured out how Scots can maximise their annual leave this holiday season.A global leader in resourcing for IT professionals, the company has found Scots can potentially triple their time away from work by identifying the best dates on the calendar to request off.For starters, Scots who are strategic with their annual leave can enjoy an 11-day break from work using only three days of annual leave.

With Monday December 26 being Boxing Day and Tuesday December 27 being a substitute holiday for Christmas Day, workers can book the rest of the week off (Wednesday December 28 – Friday December 30).

Then, you won't have to return until Wednesday January 4, since Monday January 2 and Tuesday January 3 are also substitute holidays.Alternatively, workers could take off Wednesday January 4 until Friday January 6 to give themselves a 9-day break, whilst still only using 3 days’ leave.
