But it wasn’t long before an evening fraught with tension -- even among Queen Alicent (Emily Carey), Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) and others all pulling stunts -- turned violent, after an increasingly jealous Criston took out his rage over not being able to marry Rhaenyra on Joffrey and kills him in gruesome fashion in the middle of the dance floor. The attack then leads to an all-out brawl before Laenor is left weeping over Joffrey’s dead body.

HBO has released a trailer for the latest episode of House Of The Dragon, setting up what looks to be a dramatic conclusion to the first season of the Game of Thrones prequel.In the episode eight trailer, which you can watch below, we can see that the story has been thrust even further into the future with a second time jump, with Aegon, Aemond and Rhaenyra Targaryen’s sons all being recast with older actors.The first time jump came in episode six, with Emma d’Arcy and Olivia Cooke taking over as the adult versions of Rhaenyra and young Alicent. Through her agency, she was introduced to Gail Abarbanel, the president of the Rape Foundation and founder of Stuart House. Abarbanel gave Olsen a tour of the Stuart House space in Santa Monica, where kids who’ve been sexually assaulted are provided free medical, legal and psychological care.
