If it’s good enough for TV royalty Holly Willoughby then it’s good enough for me. Or so I thought before the moment when I had to jump into a sub-zero swimming pool in South East London. Holly put the spotlight on cold water therapy with her latest show, BBC One’s Freeze the Fear, and she has found it an emotional experience.
It’s certainly a passion project. The This Morning presenter has long been a fan of the wellness guru, Wim Hof aka 'The Iceman'. He has created the famous The Wim Hof Method of deep breathing and cold water therapy, which works on the basic principle that cold stimulates us and helps fight disease by boosting the immune system and reducing chronic inflammation within the body.
