Following Holly Willoughby’s emotional statement on Monday’s This Morning, MP John Nicholson has mocked the presenter during a Culture, Media and Sport Committee which took place in Parliament on June 6. Addressing the representatives from ITV, John said: “First of all, are you OK?”, mimicking what Holly said in the opening of her statement as she addressed This Morning viewers on Monday 5 June amid her return to the show.
The TV star, 42, presented the show alongside Josie Gibson on Monday as she spoke for the first time since the controversy surrounding Phillip Schofield's exit from the broadcaster. Holly started the show by thanking her new co-host for “being here” as she held Josie's hand.
Holly then said: "Deep breath - firstly, are you OK? I hope so.” After taking some time away from the show, Holly said that it felt “very strange” to be presenting the show without Phil before adding: “I imagine you might be feeling a lot like I have - shaken, troubled, let down, worried for the wellbeing of people on all sides of what's been going on, and full of questions.” She continued: "You, me and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved. That is a lot to process. "And it's equally hard to see the toll that it's taken on their own mental health.
I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and well-being of everyone. "I hope that as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.
