Holly Willoughby was pictured beaming after leaving This Morning early today (May 17) to meet King Charles III. The TV host, 42, made a quick dash from the ITV studios to head to an event at Buckingham Palace, as her co-host Phillip Schofield was left to present the remainder of the programme alone.
During her live appearance on the daytime show on Wednesday, Holly told viewers she'd be making a shorter appearance than usual. “I put my posh dress on today because later on this afternoon I am heading to Buckingham Palace and there the King will be, and we get to introduce the award winners to the King so he can say well done, which is all quite exciting isn’t it?”.
Phillip, 61, then said he was “holding the fort” before Holly responded with a “thank you”. It follows claims that the pair, who have fronted the show together for the last 14 years, are 'barely speaking' behind the scenes.

“We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone," he said.
“Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her. The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.”
Putting the drama behind her, Holly was all smiles as she met the King at Buckingham Palace alongside US actor Stanley Tucci for The Prince’s Trust Awards.
