There were two familiar faces back on ITV This Morning today (September 5) as usual presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield returned from their traditional summer breaks. The co-hosts said they had "really missed" each other despite having met up once at Holly's house during the summer months but, as they hadn't see each other for a while, they couldn't help pointing out some notable differences when it came to each other's appearance.
Holly, 41, who is known for her flowing blonde bob haircut seemed to have added a little extra length to the ends of her tresses with some platinum hair extensions. Phillip, 60, commented: "Long hair" as Holly replied: "Yes, all that sun and a little bit of glue and a little bit of help from my hairdresser friend and it's like magic." And Phil, whose eyes seemed a little moist and glassy looking as though he'd been crying had to reassure viewers he wasn't upset and explained: "I've got a dilated pupil and am still taking drops for the next week." Holly said: "It does look a little bit freaky." Later on in the programme, Phil explained further that this summer he'd finally undergone eye surgery after suffering for years from excessive floaters in his vision.
The TV star had been struggling with the eye condition for some time, with his vision being seriously restricted by what appeared to be dark blobs. He said that sometimes on Dancing on Ice he wasn't able to property read his autocue.
Speaking very openly about how it felt to have the surgery Phil said he'd lain in his garden and cried real tears looking at the sky which he could finally see clearly for the first time in years. He told Holly: "After having them done [his eyes] in the summer I lay back and looked up at the clear

Fans of This Morning have continued to share their feelings about Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield's 'queue jump' saga. It is almost a week since the hosting duo were seen inside Westminster Hall where the Queen was lying in state.
This Morning viewers have expressed concerns that presenter Holly Willoughby looked as though she had been “crying all night” as she appeared on the show today (Tuesday 21 September). She and co-presenter Phillip Schofield have recently found themselves at the centre of controversy, with the pair facing accusations of queue-jumping at the late Queen’s lying-in-state.
ITV This Morning’s Holly Willoughby is said to be in “crisis talks” with the broadcaster after the recent backlash over claims she “queue jumped” to see the Queen Lying-in-State with co-host Phillip Schofield. The TV presenters have strenuously denied claims that they skipped the queue at Westminster Hall and that they were instead in the “press queue” with accreditation which is given to journalists and broadcasters. After addressing the backlash on Tuesday’s This Morning, Holly, 41, is said to have ITV fearful she will leave the show after she was left in “floods of tears” over the recent drama.
Eamonn Holmes drew shock and laughter as he took an opportunity to make a dig at former This Morning co-stars Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. Since the Queen's death was announced on September 8, the veteran presenter has been hosting his GB News show from outside Buckingham Palace.
Davide Sanclimenti wasted no time in getting stuck in as he cheekily nabbed a bite of a cake that had been created of his girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. The loved-up couple, who won Love Island last month, have had a lot to celebrate this week following a dream trip to New York.
Holly Willoughby appeared filled with emotion as she joined Phillip Schofield to see the Queen lie in state. Queen Elizabeth II spent her first full day lying in state on Thursday (September 15) after the public were allowed to start paying their respects to the late monarch from 5pm on Wednesday.
Holly Willoughby appeared to surprise her co-host Phillip Schofield when she made a confession about driving abilities on This Morning. The hosting duo were back at the helm of the ITV daytime programme on Wednesday (September 7)
Holly Willoughby left Phillip Schofield stunned on Wednesday's This Morning as she made a driving confession. During the latest instalment, Holly, 41, and Phillip, 60, were discussing road sign mistakes during a section called: "Have you spotted a mistake near you?" And when a roundabout sign mistake came up on screen, Holly made her own confession about driving. The giggling presenter admitted: "Well, I'm not very good with, this is an awful thing [to say], I'm not very good with roundabouts anyway.
